Bridget Riley at the Hayward Gallery

A large exhibition of art by Bridget Riley who has spent her career making mesmerising, abstract paintings built out of complex patterns and structures. Sometimes these paintings are employ colour and sometimes black and white. Often they are difficult to view although Riley always invites the observer to look more deeply and with more concentration. Riley is interested in the 'pleasures of sight', how the eye responds to the material forms on a canvas and a relationship with the environment around us.
