Where do we meet? Grosvenor Chapel, Mayfair. On the first morning we will meet in the Garden Room at the back of the Grosvenor Chapel, 24 S Audley St, London W1K 2PA. https://what3words.com/stuck.pushed.will. Access is from Mount Street Gardens at the back of the chapel.

Public Transport: Green Park,  11-minute walk away. (Jubilee, Piccadilly, Victoria Lines)

What is included? Lectures, gallery visits, notes and briefings. All our gallery visits are free to access. Tea and coffee.

What is not included? Lunch. Transport between venues. Coat/bag storage.

What do I need to bring? Provide or purchase lunch/snacks. A laptop or notebook and pen if you like.

Access. There is an accessible toilet and the room is on the ground floor. Step-free access is available.

Grace Adam is an artist and lecturer, with an in-depth understanding of art: the ways it is made, the concepts and ideas behind it and its place in society.

She has a BA Hons in Fine Art, and completed her M.A. in Sculpture and Installation at Chelsea College of Art & Design.  Following this she was Chelsea Fellow at the college for a year.  She holds a PGCert in Teaching and Learning, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority.

She teaches History & Theory and Studio on Graduate and Post Graduate courses at Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London. She has also taught at Central St Martins, London College of Fashion and London College of Communication. At the Royal Academy of Arts, she gives talks to sponsors, supporters and patrons on current exhibitions.

Grace has worked with many major galleries in London where she has created and delivered lectures, seminars, workshops and CPD, (Whitechapel Gallery, The Serpentine Gallery, The Royal Academy of Arts, The Courtauld Institute, Tate Modern and Britain and the National Portrait Gallery, Serpentine Gallery, Chisenhale Gallery). Areas covered include drawing, life drawing, collage, painting and sculpture, as well as lecturing on specific artists and movements and writing texts for learning materials for adults and young people.

The British Council, Myanmar has awarded Grace bursaries and commissions to work with young artists and curators. Projects have included producing three films exploring the UK art scene, online publications; How to Get into Art School, and How to prepare your Portfolio.

In her own practice, Grace works between drawing, painting and sculpture, and is particularly interested in our environments; how we build, negotiate and use them, as well as concepts of the everyday. Adam exhibits regularly and has been Artist in Residence at institutions including St Giles in the Fields Church, Museum of Domestic Architecture, Whitechapel Gallery, HMP Prison Gartree, The Gibberd Trust, Banff Centre for the Arts, Canada, as well as many schools and colleges.

Joshua White has extensive experience lecturing in the history of art, teaching for over 20 years at Christie’s Education in London where he was director of ‘The London Art Course’.

He has taught multiple courses over the years from Impressionism and Surrealism to Photography. Joshua has direct experience of the art market, working as a Gallery Director between 2018 and 2020 specialising in 20th Century photography. Elsewhere, he has lectured for Sotheby’s Institute and Tate Modern and recently joined the Arts Society as an accredited lecturer.

On television and radio, Joshua has been a guest contributor to Channel 5’s ‘Great Paintings of the World’, BBC Radio 4’s ‘Behind The Scenes’ and BBC Radio 3’s ‘Turning Picasso.’ For publication, he has produced exhibition catalogues and written for the BBC, the FT, Christie’s Magazine and Flash Art.

Joshua and Grace are founders and presenters on The Art Channel, an online Youtube project documenting and interpreting Modern and Contemporary art exhibitions in commercial galleries and public institutions.
